Learned a new: selenelion
I'm told that the East Coast of the US (including Boston) will experience a rare event, the selenelion when the rising sun and the setting moon will be visible at the same time, at around 6 AM Tuesday March 3.

I almost forgot the lunar eclipse among the chaos of the news. Tomorrow morning--and for those of us on the East Coast we get a selenelion where the moon sets as the sun rises. This is my quilt "blood moon" from several years ago as a reminder. #bloodmoon #artquilt #selenelion #original #art #quilt

On Tuesday, March 3, 2026, a total lunar eclipse—a Blood Moon—will sweep across North America. Totality begins at 6:04 AM ET. While western states will see the full show, the East Coast will witness a rare Selenelion: the eclipsed Moon setting while the Sun rises simultaneously.
