🌍 How do global change and land use affect the ability of headwater catchments to retain greenhouse gases? The international project #SERVICO2, coordinated by CEAB-CSIC, is finding out. And its website is now live! 🔗

How do climate change, atmospheric nutrient deposition and land use affect the capacity of headwaters to regulate greenhouse gases? The SERVICO2 project studies a little-known but fundamental ecosystem service: the ability of headwater catchmentsf to act as sinks or sources of greenhouse gases such as CO₂, CH₄ or N₂O. Understanding how these fluxes vary in a […]

We've been very active with the #SERVICO2 project this April! 🌍

Besides the kickoff meeting, we took part in two international forums:

🔹 ICP-Waters Task Force, presented by our Czech partners!
🔹 4th ACCC Impact Week 2025

We’re always glad to share our research!

🔬 Last week we kicked off the #SERVICO2 project in #Montpellier! #Water4AllEU

We’ll be investigating how human activities impact headwater catchments and the vital ecosystem services they provide, such as water supply and climate regulation 🌍💧

Impacts of climate, N and P deposition and land use on water as a driver of the greenhouse gases regulatory ecosystem service in headwater catchments (SERVICO2) | CEAB
Headwater basins provide water supply, greenhouse gas regulation, and other essential ecosystem services. However, human activities have altered its functioning. This research project investigates how...
