I bought an audio lead to loop output back into aux input on my only hw synth (Donner L1000, SH101 clone.).
All the cool kids were doing it!
hw patching is a sort of addictive analog programming, I reckon
My experience with MIDI so far is...not sure if I want more IT incompatibility shit in my life!

many years ago we bought a SH101 which had several missing fader and knob caps replaced by the seller at some point. He proceeded to remove the ones he'd replaced before he shipped it as apparently only the original parts were included in the sale... 🤔

Mine has slider pots galore, and the UI is "refined".
The earlier ones with patch leads everywhere are amazing Rube Goldberg contraptions!
Just making sounds with the arpeggiator running is great, not music, but fun.

I can't remember the exact model. It did have an arpeggiator, though, that I spent hours playing around with. They did get an SH101 at one point, but no-one knew how to programme the thing, so it mainly just made fart sounds, haha 😂

The worst packaging is always perpetrated by people who seem to exist in a constant state of anal OCD worry about their kit. There are few forces equal to the concern over exact SH101 knob choice, as displayed by someone who has just shipped it across europe via second class post in a bin bag! 🤔

I had one of these for a bit, and I have a hunch that some next level Moog/SH101 bass could come out of this.

You raise a valid point. I can't think of another explanation for the blue SH101 we once received though the post with nothing but a piece of cardboard taped to each side.
If that wasn't due to the influence of pure evil, i can't imagine what might have caused it...

I've ordered a Stylophone 🤣 Tempted to buy a book on building analogue synthesizers (I like electronics) but I'd be shit actually playing it lol . I did violin at 7 when all I wanted was a melodica haha. In the 80's I'd have killed for an SH101+tone bend. Never could do reeds. Mouth feel issues.
