A few thoughts on China's SLBM test. This isn't as big a deal as everyone is making it out to be. Nuclear weapons states have missiles and they test them.

No question there should be a triad approval authority to launch nuclear weapons. Eg. President, Sec Def, Speaker of the House. No question that our SLBM nuclear deterrence is completely credible even after suffering an enemy preemptive attack. I would also support “No First Use.”
The only checks on a reckless president are the human beings in the #nuclear chain of command, who would have to choose to abdicate their duties in order to stall or thwart an order they found reprehensible or insane.

Although afaik this was a lone land launched ICBM in the movie, not a SLBM?
