cameraposting for the sickos: dad gifted me his minolta SRT 101 over christmas, a sherman tank of a camera body that still fires its mechanical shutter beautifully after a few decades spent in storage. don't think i'm gonna mess around with mercury battery replacements and just get a hotshoe meter

It's been 15 years, but this article (visually showing the effects of 1 and 6 meters of SLR on areas around the world) still has teeth. 1 meter SLR will happen in the lifetime of those reading this (and likely 2 meters SLR).

This rationale hits on at least three of the five main categories of climate denial:
1/ It’s not real (alleged SLR)
2/ It’s not us (alarming scenarios vs balanced discussion)
3/ It’s not bad (exaggerated threats)
Just missing
4/ it’s too hard/impossible to fix
5/ It’s too late
