SMT4 might have the most interesting world of all the shin megami tensei games, but the "figure out yourself where the fuck to go" shit relies on knowing a lot more about tokyo than I do

i love smt4 and 4:a with all my heart but those games are fairly accessible and thus poor candidates for remakes beyond the purpose of farming ip money. smt1/2, on the other hand, are cryptic nightmares for almost all modern players and would hugely benefit from being remade with modern mechanics

SMT4 is a good example of "I've never been but I know this place like the back of my hand" meme that goes around every now and again.

And any updated demon graphics from a Strange Journey port could get reused in SMT4/Apocalypse ports, as well. Step by step make the DS games accessible to current players.
I know I'm in the minority that's more interested in that over Persona remakes.

wanted to gush about how good the smt4 soundtrack is,it's really is one of the goats but that kinda implies that the rest of smt4 is not also the goat, but that game really do be one of da best to ever do it the vibes are too strong and good, I tend to gush to someone every 3 months about it

shoutout to the challenge rooms in SMT4 that forced you to do some wacky ass shit to beat them, so even turn based games can do this too.

Favorite scary theme: The Voice Someone Calls (Persona 3)

sorry, when I say turn based, I meant the JRPG battle thing.
Also my favourite track was that beat that played when exploring the sci fi-esque places youtu.be/PaOdzjlu_UE
like it's so SMT4 it's unreal
I love when games have "fantasy setting set in the FUTURE with sci-fi stuff hidden"
