Love this show alot, alongside MAWSM I always recommend SMTAS to people who are looking for easy gateways into Superman media.

Recommended it to quite a few people after the James Gunn movie came out.

The only guy who can do a voice like the SMTAS 90s Punisher might be "M'ask you somethin'" himself, because now everyone needs the Punisher to sound like he drinks gravel.

I welcome changing the designs since I agree with Jack the art style was weak. XTAS just lifted Jim Lee but SMTAS did this weird thing where Peter looks like Hammond and every dude is super jacked.

That said, Peter's face looks horrible here.

Wish they brought the originally planned design back.

Oh yeah, The Batman too. I may be the only person who though spectacular spiderman was just okay. To be fair, I thought the same of legion, but that's not as much of a hot take.

I loved justice league when I'd get to see it, and I've got a soft spot for the couple eps of SMTAS I saw.

This show is aiming for all ages with its tone but the writing I feel is very basic kids show stuff.

The writing is not as strong as SMTAS and Spectacular but it's DEFINITELY better than Ultimate and SM2017

The two, as individuals, had good within them, either intrinsic or learned. It wasn’t until SMTAS and later books where the alien would be rewritten as insidious or having a poor effect on Peter, and Eddie would be retroactively given worse traits (and writing)

I do wish the clear version I got in the SMTAS VHS 2-pack had come with the giant water hands.

Apparently (found this out when I was doing research when I got retro card Sandman) Hydro-Man was a stand-in for Sandman who never appeard in the toon for… um, reasons I can’t remember.

When X-Men '97 comes back we get a themed season.

Cel shaded '97 / SMTAS skins for all the X-Men, Spider-Man, Daredevil, Punisher, and Captain America. It would be a real shut up and take my money kind of situation.

Anime was niche but people still knew it. Literally everyone knew Naruto. It was only a question of whether you liked it or were bullied for liking it.

And if you wanna talk about TV, anime was on way way more than Spectacular. SMTAS was on more but still not remembered like DBZ, Sailor Moon etc.

Batman 1966 is literally from decades ago. And yes, even then, people in the 60s knew Batman more from there than comics. Batman comics were actually struggling before the show camr out.

Imma keep it simple: Everyone my age (30s) knows the anime I watch but a few know SMTAS or Spectacular

Semper had been *really* smug about how great SMTAS did, constantly talking about how his show beat BTAS in the ratings.

Kind of felt like an unnecessary dig.
