It's #SelfPublishedAuthorsAppreciationWeek and I'm one of those. I would appreciate it if you appreciated one of my self-published books this week. I happen to think they're quite a lot of fun. Be on the lookout for something exciting later this week too. #SPAAW

The Backwards Knight's inspiration came from the darkest timeline nine years ago.

I never would've expected to be reliving those days even darker, on the eve of releasing this book. If you want some hope in the dark, I offer a temporary escape.

Much love, friends.

Below is a black text box with white text that reads: “Your ears are smoking something fierce.” Laela spoke before he could. “Please do not overburden your poor brain on my account.” “Well, excuse me, princess,” Orn groused. “I’ve been stuck out here on my own so long, I’m afraid I’m not used to such stimulating company. But I figured we might compare notes. Why Swanford? Why the bounty in Redford and Ostford? Why are there marks—” Orn stopped himself, worrying for a moment he had divulged too much information. “You’ve seen the marks, right?”

Am I OK to shamelessly self-promote my upcoming debut fantasy novel on #SPAAW #SelfPublishedAuthorsAwarenessWeek (awesome work @wsbookclub.bsky.social!)?

An epic fantasy with a dark twist, pre-order The Worth of Scars at books2read.com/worthofscars. Or try the excerpt: bookhip.com/SQGBFHA.

Thanks!

And one more time since I forgot to hashtag the original post. To do my part and help folks find good self-pub, I created a list of my indie & self-pub reviews in Storylace. Most of these have audio too. #SPAAW

Man I wish I'd had the spoons to do something fun for #SPAAW. I've got so many friends doing cool stuff that needs promoting, I've got stuff that needs promoting, and I just generally like the concept of celebrating self-pub. But unfortunately the mitochondria are not power housing my cells

It's Self-Published Authors Appreciation Week, or #SPAAW, which is my new favorite week of the year, actually.

If manmade apocalyptic sci-fi is your jam, consider checking out Bridges of Smoke! (It also happens to be $2 on itch and smashwords all month)

Graphic showing a faded, overgrown concrete structure behind a barbed-wire fence. In the foreground, white text reads, "happy self-published authors appreciation week. JulieMarchBooks.itch.io." Most of the text is in a futuristic style, except for "happy," which is in script. To the right is the cover for Bridges of Smoke, featuring purple and blue smoke texture and futuristic white text. A white arrow points from the middle at the cover with the caption, "The self-published book." A white banner sticks out of the bottom left of the cover with purple text reading, "50% off thru 7/31." In the left corner is a digital illustration of a white woman with brownish-blonde hair holding a teal book and wearing a purple hoodie. A white arrow points from the middle to the painting with the caption, "the self-published author."
