I would do everything in your power to not have a transfer of care. Ironically my town is meant to be getting one of these new MH A&E depts next year but it's going to be run by SPFT so obv the answer to a crisis is have a bath, go for a walk or have a cup of tea! That'll keep the waiting time down.

![Dedicated local mental health and pastoral support: In recognition that changes to, or withdrawal of,
treatment may give rise to psychological distress, NHS Sussex has commissioned a dedicated support
pathway in partnership with Sussex Partnership Foundation Trust (SPFT) and Allsorts a Voluntary,
Community and Social Enterprise (VCSE) sector provider, to offer timely psychological support to children and young people identified through the review process.
All children and young people within scope of the investigation will be offered an individual clinical review
and access to this support pathway, irrespective of geographical location. Where further or specialist
intervention is clinically indicated, including referral to Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services
(CAMHS), neurodevelopmental services or safeguarding teams, appropriate onward referral will be made.

Suicide prevention: Suicide prevention will be treated as a priority consideration throughout the
investigation and associated care processes. Structured risk assessment will be embedded within all
individual clinical reviews, with particular focus on children and young people who have a history of mental
health difficulties or suicidal ideation or behaviours.
NHS Sussex will work in partnership with Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) and
relevant voluntary and community sector organisations to ensure that clear and timely urgent referral
pathways are in place for those assessed as being at elevated risk. These arrangements are intended to
support early identification of risk, ensure prompt access to appropriate intervention, and mitigate the
potential for serious harm arising from changes to treatment or care pathways.
