Rainy morning here in Cleveland, and I’m rested after getting home from Summit. Time to knock out some documentation for SSMS 21 Preview 1. In addition to installation info, what else do folks think might be *very* different from VS that I need to re-write?

Using #SSMS21 preview - good news!
@madskristensen.net provides (among many others) a great extension for VS called Font Sizer 2 and it can be made to work with #SSMS21 preview.
Add InstallationTarget for Microsoft.VisualStudio.Ssms to the vsixmanifest.

SQL Prompt should be working in SSMS21 Preview, but a few steps to follow: documentation.red-gate.com/sp/getting-s...

Note: I had to restart SSMS 2-3 times for this to work

Now that's a title! Especially for a very cool new feature: Copilot embedded in SSMS. I've blogged about Copilot for SQL before, but this really is the next step! I'm very excited about this new feature, and I tried to install it on my machine. Because Microsoft can share all the steps they think you need to take, I still like to try it all out by myself.

It ran every night for months and months.
Then it broke.
With a login failed for user .....
But nothing had changed. I could connect with the user using SSMS 21 Preview aka.ms/ssms21
I could connect in VSCode with the user. I could connect in pwsh using the connection string
I couldnt even replicate
