Best looking generation of Mondeo, these. Even a boggo LX on wheel trims looks smart, while an ST220 is still very handsome indeed.

good morning: today I learned that the Duratec V6 from the S-Type and Modeo ST220 was designed by Porsche and engineered by Cosworth and the reason why I learned this has nothing to do with any of those companies and everything to do with a British Mazda

CD132 platform Ford Mondeos will, from next year, be eligible for importation to the United States free of DOT & EPA requirements under the NHTSA. This Mexican-registered ST220 is already here, and I suspect more will follow.

The rest of my shortlist before I bought the Accord was the MPS6, ST220, and S40R. The Volvo was unobtanium, the Fords were all being sold by drug dealers around Stockport, and the Mazda fell over when I spoke to owners and got that very story. Transmission bits should not be disposable items :)

Sad, because I've owned some really great Fords - a mk1 Capri bought in 1984 for £90, a Fiesta ghia, a Sierra 4x4 and a Mk3 Mondeo ST220 estate that was a brilliant family car for 14 years.

We were following a Subaru Forester that did the same thing down Long Drove. It lurched left on landing and almost bounced off the side of the road. Pretty sure we were in the ST220 at the time.

This 2011 K-1 Attack is a very rare beast in the U.S. and not road legal. Essentially a kit car for racing using the V6 from a Ford Mondeo ST220, K-1 Engineering exported around twenty to the United States. They’re not road legal and this one has 11 miles on the clock.

Ah, it was the Duratec 2.5 in the SVT for North America (don't you love how we always got the lower output motors back in the day?), and the 3.0 in the ST220. I think you could make a swap over here as the 3.0 block was in the Taurus. But just the SVT cams into the 3.0 heads.
