#ST:TOS
Tonight on ST:TOS:

A mirror universe where everyone is evil!

Unless the plot calls for them to be otherwise, but that's mostly in DS9 era

Star Trek:DS9 followed by ST:TOS.

looking at furry art with floating disembodied cocks (no bodies to block view of the rest of the porn) and suddenly imagined a big hardon slowly floating around with the music for "Nomad" in "The Changeling" episode of ST:TOS

it beats self hate at this hour, at least

Indeed. I felt Uhura and chapel’s hair didn’t even work in the last episode.
SNW producer: we’ll give the future female crew plunging necklines on the uniforms, but they get to wear leggings so there’s no suggestion we’re sexualising them.

Tonight on ST:TOS:

Shatner plays Kirk's dead brother, killed by what appears to be the fake plastic vomit they used to sell on the back cover ads on comic books

ST:TNG was the Star Trek of my generation, and it resonated with me more because of the values it stood for, and how Picard and his crew chose to solve problems with reason, science and empathy rather than fists and bravado. ST:TOS was great adventure, but TNG was a future I wanted to live in.
I often always remember this scene of Measure of a Man from TNG, where Picard realises the dire moral implications of the judgement over Data, and the way in which Patrick Stewart portrays the full weight of it.

RIP

It was still all a bit abstract for UK viewers as the BBC didn't start showing ST:TNG until 1990.
This was the same Olde Worlde 3yr delay that we had with ST:TOS - 1st shown in the UK in 1969.

When the spate of ST:TOS memoirs came out, his and Nichelle Nichols’ were the ones I got the most out of reading. Takei was still mostly closeted then, but reading between the lines, it was clear his memoir was part of his coming out process.

Tonight on ST:TOS:

"Save the cheerleader, save the wor--"

No, wait.

That was a different series.

This one's "Kill the social worker, save the world"

Tonight on ST:TOS:

No! Don't let the Lazaruses (Lazuresi?) touch each other!

since SUNDAY we have lost the top voice actor of our generation, a ST:TOS regular, a legendary labor rights activist, two sex symbols from back in the day,and now him. Yet Cheetolini lives.

This is terribly sad news, though 90 is a good age. Chekov was always my favourite ST:TOS crew member.
My heart is heavy. Walter Koenig, our Ensign Pavel Chekov, passed away early today.

Walter and I met on the bridge of the Enterprise in the 1960s, and we stayed friends for nearly six decades. When Brad and I married in 2008, Walter stood beside us as our best man.

Dammit. I was never a hardcore ST:TOS fan, but TNG was a huge touchstone in my adolescence. I’m sure the man wasn’t perfect, but by all accounts he was a good person. Might have to have some Earl Grey.
Fans across the world mourn the passing of a true and irreplaceable legend. As Captain Jean-Luc Picard, Patrick Stewart took the starship Enterprise to places it had never gone before.

While Trekkies binge watch Chekov heavy episodes of ST:TOS to honor and remember Walter Koenig, I'm grabbing my DVD's of ST:TAS and watching "The Infinite Vulcan" written by Koenig.

Another one today that hits hard. He didn't get to ST:TOS until the second season but that never lessened his impact in the Star Trek universe. The word is given Ensign.

Tonight on ST:TOS:

"We told you to leave us alone, we don't need your help. Now go away and take the Klingons with you or we're going to take away ALL your toys"

Just being nitpicking, Stewart absolutely led the acting improvement from beg of season 1 to beg of season 3 to 100. Doesn't get there w/o him

But season 1 and 2 were not there with the acting.

And honestly? The plots of ST:TOS were campy, but Shatner, Nimoy, and Kelley were excellent with acting.

I'll probably remember dudebro's name an hour from now & feel really old & stupid. But I digress.

Dudebro did a pretty good job of keeping Stewart talking about all kinds of stuff. But at one point, Dudebro was mentioning ST:TOS & referred to Kirk's various love interests as "skanks".

While he's probably most famous for Chekhov on ST:TOS. I'll always remember him as Bester on B5.

We'll be seeing you again beyond the Great Rim.
My pal Danielle Koenig shared that her father Walter Koenig passed away last night at age 90. A performer whose kindness and warmth shone through the screen. He will be well remembered.

ST:TOS instilled such hope and optimism for the future in my generation. I think of the characters as family

RIP Walter Koenig, one of my favorite ST:TOS actors. May he be reunited with the Great Bird of the Galaxy.
