Guess what!? I got #matched! Another year of letter writing in the Letters to a Prescientist program commences! Let’s see what curious questions and new ideas my
penpal and I will share! #TogetherLPSConnects #STEMforAll #STEMPenPals

Excited to learn I was matched with a pen pal for Letters to a Pre-Scientist! #scicomm #outreach #TogetherLPSConnects #STEMforAll #STEMPenPals

This year, I was #STEMPenPals with a 5th grader that had NO interest in science.

But in his last letter, he told me how much he loved the experiments he was now doing in science class🔬

Now another 🇵🇷 boy knows science is an option for him!! Knowledge is power ✊🏾🔥

Thank you #LPS!!

Update: I sent Vic back to my penpal with some new clothes and a "scrapbook" of adventures from his week of being a grad student.

Feel free to print yourself a copy of this scrapbook zine!

Received my 3rd letter from my pre-scientist pen pal! She used a microscope for the first time in class, and shared concerns about plastic in the ocean. So great to see these young minds engaged! I can’t wait to write back📝🧠

I’m so excited!!! I can’t wait to talk to the student I’m matched with about my journey in science and bond over things we have in common like our love for oceans and crafting!! #STEMforAll #STEMPenPals

my favorite email every year 🤩

#STEMPenPals are the best, I can't wait to nerd out about nature, photography, and cooking!
