Últimamente se está hablando de que Turquía querría un portaaviones STOBAR y que lo haría Navantia, supongo que de ahí la historia del portaaviones convencional para España. Pero en un stobar con suerte se puede meter el Rafale, del que han lanzado la versión F5 hace poco, y supongo que los turcos

the ski-jump bow tends to disappear in radar images on the Chinese and Indian STOBAR carriers, I'm guessing because it acts like a big parabolic mirror and doesn't reflect much back at the source.
(Has made it hard to get a nice radar picture of the Indian carrier Vikrant at the pier)

You also need a seriously reinforced landing gear which increases the weight still further. If they were going for STOBAR there were probably more suitable options that weren’t F-35s, but politically that was not tenable

Israel will never leave US side. Especially now you have fascists in both country.
F-35B customers. They can't cancel them because there is NO alternative. UK could switch from STOBAR to CATOBAR carrier for their 2 ships but this will be costly and then... buy Rafale (lol), other can't

Sortie rates are lower, both owing to the design of the STOBAR carriers and the composition and tasking of their air groups. Shandong completed 240 fixed wing sorties over a 7 day period in June. Liaoning completed 90 fixed wing sorties over two days in October.

Do you remember Cameron was floating that idea back before the F-35 decision?
Rafales can take-off from ramps, but can't land on HMS QE2 flight deck - too short. They would have to mod the carriers for STOBAR arrester gear and there's no money to do it.
