I had a great conversation with Dr. Lawrence Paska the new ED of ACTFL about this very issue during the SWCOLT conference last week. Technically, teaching & learning another language would fall under this umbrella. So where do you draw the line? #edchat #langchat

I renewed my Ohio teaching certificate last July. Since then, I have attended or presented at 10 conferences: AP Annual Conference 2024, ACTFL 2024, SWCOLT 2025, NECTFL 2025, CLTA 2025, Central States 2025, SCOLT 2025, PNCFL 2025, AATSP 2025, and AATF 2025! What a year!

Aloha! Transformative Translations, an internship program for multilingual youth in Hawai’i is looking to add a multilingual podcasting internship for this school year. We are looking for adults who have experience in creating podcasts to be adult mentors to our youth. Mentors can live anywhere and do not have to be multilingual themselves. Mentors would meet virtually with interns 5-6 times a semester for 1 hour sessions to help students grow their podcasting skills and would be paid a stipend. If you or someone you know might be interested in being a mentor please reach out to the program Director, Natalie Lalagos at Natalie.lalagos@k12.hi.us
