What a game!!! In the end, it was left to Lightning captain Steph Fretwell who won it with a super shot at the death. Cara Koenen was POTM. Paige Hadley is on managed minutes and spent the 2nd half on the bench

With this result, Swifts have moved above Lightning on percentage. Lightning had everything to play for, with a win vital for their playoff chances. But it was the Swifts who looked more determined and more motivated.

Once again, time out taken just before the power 5. Swifts lead by 8. Lightning will be throwing everything at this to try to make up the deficit, but Swifts are looking strong so far.

Swifts come away with a resounding win, keeping their finals hopes alive while putting a dent in Lightning's chances. Grace Whyte was adjudged POTM. Her combination with Grace Nweke was outstanding. Nweke finished with 61/65.

1/2 time: SWI 34-33

This is exciting. 17-17 in that Q. The ball is going from end to end, with thrilling play, but not all of it is effective. 25 turnovers in all so far. The Graceful combo of Whyte and Nweke are going well so far for Swifts.

3/4 time: SWI 52-45

After two even quarters, Swifts got right on top in the third, winning it 18-12. At this stage, try as they might, Lightning doesn't have an answer to Nweke and Whyte. Added to that, injury concerns for Donnell Wallam.

Approaching the power 5 in the third Q and Swifts lead 46-42. An important period coming up for both teams.

What a chaotic and frantic first quarter. Seven turnovers already against each team. Thunderbirds only had 8 all game last night! With so many changes of possession, each team took turns at grabbing the momentum and then relinquishing it!

Great game, befitting such a crucial match up. The third quarter was pretty much goal for goal with Lightning just edging it. It's been a high scoring quality encounter so far. Anyone's game.

Another goal from Housby on the buzzer, but this time to retake the lead after Lightning levelled. Lightning's attack was better in that Q with Cara Koenen proving to be a great target.
