On June 2nd, 1975, 100 sex workers gathered at the Saint-Nizier Church in Lyon, France. They demanded an end stigma, criminal penalties and police harassment.

They hung a banner which read ‘Our children don’t want their mothers to go to jail’

That was when International Sex workers' Day started.

Today we're breaking down three [USA] stings sold as anti-trafficking wins: • Operation Hot Spots, Folsom, CA. • Fool Around and Find Out, Polk County, FL. • Operation Burn Notice, County, GA. Different slogans. Same pattern. ‣ What Stings Actually Cost. Because agencies don't publish receipts, we built conservative estimates using: • Local news and court records. • Staffing and overtime rates. • Known sting tactics. • Comparable disclosed budgets. Result: $10K–$30K per arrest — whether trafficking is proven or not. ‣ Where The Money Goes. Sting costs are driven by: • Undercover overtime. • Surveillance teams. • Command staff and supervision. • Digital forensics. • Vehicles, fuel, hotels. • Multi-agency duplication. • Press conferences and PR. This isn't cheap. It's deliberate. ‣ Case Study #1: Operation Hot Spots (Folsom). • 4-year operation running 2–7 days. • 46 total arrests. • 0 confirmed trafficking charges. • 0 public victim outcomes. Cost per arrest: $24.5K. ‣ Case Study #2: Operation Burn Notice (Henry County). • Multi-agency operation. • 17 arrests. • Mostly solicitation of an adult decoy. • 1 trafficking charge — never explained. Estimated cost: $393K. Cost per arrest: $23K. ‣ Burn Notice: The Sequel. Another sting. More arrests. Nearly half a million dollars total. Still no public data on: • Victims helped. • Services delivered. • Trafficking disrupted. PR stayed loud. Receipts stayed missing. ‣ Case Study #3: Fool Around and Find Out (Polk County). • 100–200 arrests. • Mostly misdemeanors. • No trafficking prosecutions detailed. • “Services offered” — never documented. Estimated cost: $1.73M. Cost per arrest: $8.6K – $17.2K. ‣ If This Is “Rescue”… Where are the rescued? Where are the services? Where did the money go? ‣ Three Stings. Three million dollars. Zero transparency. If trafficking stings worked, we wouldn't still be doing them like this. Receipts matter. Outcomes matter. People matter.

December 15 — Memorial, not just mourning. From mourning to movement, our grief is resistance, our resistance is power. December 16 — A world without violence. Imagine safety. A world where sex work is work, and no one's life is disposable. December 17 — Closing reflections. Much has changed. Much hasn't. But together, across every line of politics and faith—we can end the violence.

But it's not true. ‣ The Evidence (Australia) New South Wales, Australia: decriminalized since 1995 • Reduced police corruption. • Safer working conditions. • No trafficking boom. (Source: NSW Government Review, 2016) ‣ Who gets hurt by the myth ❌ Sex workers: Pushed underground, more vulnerable. ❌ Survivors: Arrested instead of supported. ❌ Children: Funneled into detention, not care. ‣ The bottom line Decriminalization doesn't cause trafficking—it helps fight it. It's the evidence-based path to safety, dignity and justice.
