The #SableIslandSweatBee is distinct from NS Sweat Bee, because it has denser, pale coloured hairs on the end of the female’s abdomen. These bees borrow their nests into the sand on #SableIsland. Learn more: sarguide.speciesatrisk.ca/sites/sargui...

The #SableIslandSweatBee is a member of the Halictidae family, and appears as a dull metallic bee measuring 5–6 mm. Both the #NovaScotiaSweatBee and the Sable Island Sweat Bee call the 34KM island, #SableIsland home.
