For day 3 of #SafeguardingAdultsWeek we look at empowering environments. Advocacy providers play a vital role and by training their advocates in all aspects of adult safeguarding, they ensure advocates can identify and respond confidently to concerns when they arise.

Over halfway through #SafeguardingAdultsWeek.
So far I've engaged with sport clubs and activity providers in Leeds, discussing the importance of safeguarding in sport. I also observed good practice at a Netball club. And today I joined my colleague on a session for Calderdale clubs.

We're starting #SafeguardingAdultsWeek with a throwback to the inclusion traffic lights.

Inclusion is a fundamental to people being safe from harm. Having friends and relationships outside of services and being a part of the local community helps keep people safe.
