I have a secret technique if i ever need to make my thoughts normal and it's thinking of the sakuracon 2009 ad where the person says GIRUGAMESH, over and over again.
They are UNTHREATENING.
They are CHASTE.
They LOVE GILGAMESH.

lk kinda glad (coping) that my costume is not going how I hoped, because I can try again next sakuracon + use more time to plan out additional costumes? maybe??
prob a bad thing to hope for when this is like my first real attempt at costuming and it feels a solid D+ at best from starting so late 🙂↕️

sorry Zoomers but there is no meme video you could make about "Millennial culture" that could hit harder than whatever the fuck is occurring in the Sakuracon 2009 television ad

This year at Sakuracon I listened to the director of Mushishi talk about his time working as an animator on Utena and the energy of that production was apparently wild, everyone getting into just adding the most creative, unique stuff they could.

Back when I did the mecha media quiz for badge ribbons, this guy at Sakuracon with a mecha quiz panel came by to do my quiz... And he rattled off like ten super obscure 70s mecha anime and their main mechs
I recognized none of them 💀
That is the one time I was cowed by another sicko's knowledge

This is wildly random but I'm hoping the internet is going to do its thing. I saw this photocard binder on TT and the poster can't remember where they got it from, only that they picked it up at Sakuracon. Anyone happen to recognize? I've got a need. 😭

like Sakuracon. This'll be my excuse to take vacation and travel 😎 (it would still be very cool if you applied to Kawaii Kon though, Hawaii is very beautiful to visit!)

Old pictures of Sapphire's cosplay from SakuraCon 2026. Sapph's canon look appears only in these or poses...rarely in-game (in practice, she's a low self-esteem person in a pig suit who turns prog into PvP).

Remember that one Aniplex panel at Sakuracon where they announced they were gonna sell a Gurren Lagann set and it was gonna be $500 USD. Happy to see we have more reasonable options these days.

Kitaro!! I've been a fan since 2015, even went to a panel for the series that year we met at Sakuracon :> (and my interest has been revitalized since there was a Kitaro channel on streaming TV in Japan when I went last month, heheh)

SakuraCon staffer from 2007-2012 here.
I wish cons were more understanding about that kind of stuff. Like yeah, so what the guests didn’t want to hang out after the con was closed?
After a weekend of grueling signature lines and back to back panels, who would want to? 😂

THUNDERBOLT FANTASY MENTION?! You have no idea how cool it was to see the promo panel for this at Sakuracon the year it premiered. I was an egg then but was still blown away, and the panel on glove puppetry in general was really fascinating!
