I wonder if this approach is related to Iwanagahime being described as "plain" compared to her sister Sakuyahime, who is more classically beautiful... or perhaps it's just because of the hairstyle lol

Headcanon : After Ariya and Yuiman were captured by the Lunarians, Konohana Sakuyahime took up the name Sengen to erase Yuimna・Asama from legends, because she wanted to make sure no one ever remembered that her sister found happiness with Yuiman.

They were meant to be different individuals after all; different lore, different timeline.
