Saltwire in Atlantic Canada is owned by Postmedia. Boycott them. Get your news on PEI from CBC. And if you’re desperate from MacNeill. At least they’re Canadian. Don’t support American Media. #cdnpoli #peipoli #pei

Could Saltwire maybe lean harder into doing writing better?

Here's your reminder that Postmedia owns all these papers.

They also bought SaltWire, but I haven't added them to the graphic.

This news article from Saltwire about how Provinces used the extra Healthcare transfers from the Federal govt, this is telling and this is why people are angry, we know they are redirecting the funds to anything but healthcare, excerpt below:

Some career news to announce, following the SaltWire transition to PNI Atlantic this week, I’ll be joining the team at the Financial Post as their new Atlantic Bureau Web Producer!

The more I dive into the SaltWire story, the more astounded I am. And I had a pretty low opinion of SaltWire management to begin with. /thread

I remember when SaltWire told me “No more writing about dead people or Bear River.”

Guess who’s now the (volunteer) writer for the Bear River Historical Society & Museum?

Saltwire, the Postmedia owned tabloid in PEI screwed up and exposed the fact that they are using AI to write their stories. They actually expect us to PAY & subscribe to that trash. Buy them out, fire all the journalists and use AI to compose the articles. #cdnpoli #peipoli #pei

It just occurred to me that once the SaltWire sale to Postmedia is approved, the Halifax Examiner will be the only locally owned news source in urban HRM.

That’s not all of them. Unless I am missing it, the Halifax Chronicle Herald is not on that list and Postmedia bought SaltWire in 2024.

Saltwire used to own 10 Atlantic Canada newspapers. Now they are all Postmedia but not on your list.
