MOE indicates straightforward sampling error and assumes a truly random (and therefore presumably representative) sample while the more difficult to address issues we've been seeing generally fall under selection biases (the group polled doesn't reflect the population of voters).

Right Resources highlights 3km tungsten trend in NSW
Right Resources has identified a tungsten exploration target near Tumbarumba in southern New South Wales after mapping a mineralised structural corridor stretching for more than 3km at its Moonlight prospect. Early rock-chip sampling at the Blue tungsten-gold-bismuth project returned grades of up to 0.61 per cent tungsten trioxide, with anomalous gold of as much as 0.25 grams per tonne. Several samples contained more than 0.1 per cent tungsten trioxide.

Can you point me to a paper on this? The part in fascinated by is how you mitigate vulnerability to adversarial attacks on the sampling method.

not super convinced it affected that much. sampling bias is pretty real. would be interested if anyone tried to actually do a study on it i guess
Seeing the Umamusume events unfold on social media and how it affected people voting was like real-time watching the Ents find the charred remains of the Isengard forest. Has anyone ever written that sentence before

We bought too much Halloween candy from Costco. Unlike the recent @penny-arcade.com comic, it's all kinda meh? Like, who changed my butterfinger? It's not the same as I remember; it's kinda boring. For the first time as a dad I am really not interested (in sampling from my kids stash).

It’s such tea leaf reading though.
It’s amazing they’re able to get close based on their sampling techniques, but I don’t trust them at all. They seem to move the numbers all by themselves via herding which provides delightful opportunities for meddling to foreign intelligence services. So.
