Council approved two Silicon Valley Power public-works contracts: a Laurelwood transmission extension (0.3 circuit miles, paid by Digital Realty) and the Juliet Substation expansion (approx $12.9M contract; Intel has made progress payments and will fund the work). Both awards passed unanimously.

City of Santa Clara Public Works presented a 2025 Sanitary Sewer Master Plan update that tightens deficiency criteria for wet‑weather surcharge and a conveyance-fee nexus study recommending lower residential and nonresidential rates and a shift to a square‑foot assessment for residences, with council consideration targeted for Dec. 9.

City celebrates dedicated public works staff for their essential services and community support.
