A lot of the wild Saskatoonberry bushes are having a bad fruit year with dry and mealy fruit. I’m glad I’ve planted a good mix of cultivars and wild type plants in my patch

While this looks like a blueberry, this Saskatoonberry is actually closer related to an apple than blueberries. One of my favourite fruits to grow because it requires no irrigation to have huge crops of fruit when mature

Serviceberries! I've tasted serviceberries in BC and found them so-so, but these ones I picked during a visit to Newfoundland are sweet, and delicious. Blueberry meets apple/pear, for me, although some describe the flavour as almondy.

Serviceberries! I've tasted serviceberries in BC and found them so-so, but these ones I picked during a visit to Newfoundland are sweet, and delicious. Blueberry meets apple/pear, for me, although some describe the flavour as almondy.

Thimbleberry
Osoberry
Salal
Trailing Blackberry
Nootka Rose (hips)
That's outstanding. There might be others in hiding, I just walked down the main "trail". I can propagate those!
