You can talk to an NPC in Legion Dalaran to do the BS Intro again usually that fixes it but sometimes when you arrive back in durator you are supposed to talk to Saurfang but if he doesn't show up you become soft locked. The rest of the world if fine but Org is stuck between the past and present.

These deaths are reflective of faction identity, frankly. Garrosh and Sylvanas kill Cairne and Saurfang because that’s the kind of stories they obviously lead to.
Honestly, the answer to feeling bad about Horde deaths probably *is* that more Alliance leaders could have died over the years.

yes, yes, I already have two Worgen who would just need some catching up, but the Warrior is in direct competition with my mag'har who's basically a younger non-green Saurfang, and the Hunter is well...hunter, and the flavor of marksman is kinda mid for me rn.

Well that's kind of the point - The writers cared about *certain* character legacies, but anything outside of those precious few could get bodied pretty fast.
They killed 3 named WC3 Heroes in TBC for name recognition, Wrath Killed off Saurfang the Younger before he could even take off.
