A large crowd gathered in Kjipuktuk/Halifax on March 5 in reaction to Houston moving to open the province to fracking and uranium mining again, calling the ban in 2014 a result of 'special interests' instead of acknowledging the ban was an informed decision coming out of the work of many dedicated Nova Scotians. In this photo a woman holds a sign in a large group that says "Tim, All of my interests are special: Clean Air, Clean Water, Democracy." People showed up to object that Nova Scotians seeking to protect NS lands are viewed by Houston as a 'special interest' group that he believes do not belong to the majority of Nova Scotians.
