I really like this idea of "scenius" to replace the concept of the lone genius. It’s a much healthier and more natural way to approach creativity that does away with the myth of the great man and encourages collective intellectual/creative pursuits and cooperation.

I really like this idea of "scenius" to replace the concept of the lone genius. It’s a much healthier and more natural way to approach creativity that does away with the myth of the great man and encourages collective intellectual/creative pursuits and cooperation.

To reiterate a point about Brian Eno's concept of scenius, the idea that great ideas emerge from a scene, motorsport thrives on scenius. F1 Valley in the UK is a scene, where engineers meet for coffee and swap ideas. Motor Valley in Italy is scenius. So is Silicon Valley

Brian Eno once asserted that "genius" is not a label that should be given to an individual, but rather a community. He urged people to find genius communities to belong to, and when they do, and integrate into them. I've been fascinated with genius communities ever since, and seeking them out.
