So, the topic is Living Waters magic. For me, this has always been the ocean. Coastal born in California, I have get to the ocean at least once a year to feel right in myself. My alt text tells how I got each glass fishing float and when.

My 2 glass fishing floats. The smaller amber/brown one I was given by my step-great-uncle. My stepfather's family were a long lineage of fisherfolk based in Santa Barbara, California. This is where I was born. The netting had soaked in the waters off Santa Barbara for many decades of service before I received it at 12 years old in 1982. Yes, that's natural fiber netting, likely replacing older worn out ones. I've protected and cherished this connection with the coastal waters of my birth ever since. The float is blown from a recycled beer bottle, common in the US at one point. Uncommon in the wider world of glass floats these days, to my surprise! This is an original, actually used float, not a modern reproduction. The larger pale blue glass is the most common color, covered in this picture. I found it in a thrift store in the early 1990's, after I began my folk magic journey. I understood the magic possibility as soon as I saw it. It had a blue plastic netting that was in poor condition. I didn't mind, since I planned on removing it anyway. Plus, my littler float had its net in great condition. I keep the blue glass covered in a cloth when not using it. Protects from dust and sunlight. My amber float hangs in my magic workspace. My 2 glass fishing floats.
