It’s been long enough that I’d forgotten just how bad the signage can be at @flysea.bsky.social SeaTac Airport.

I may start bringing my Aranet. I found a well-ventilated place to eat at SEATAC once (destination not home) and now, having seen this study (which included one of my home airports), I’m curious about whether/where it’s safe enough to unmask briefly for a meal.

U.S. citizen's wife called to her gate at the Seattle airport on a business trip thinking she was being upgraded, but instead was arrested by ICE

Like her, 70% of detainees at the Northwest ICE Processing Center have no criminal history. She's pressured daily to self-deport rather than see a judge

The same vibe for the lovely folks who built this amazing bench at a stop in North SeaTac Park. It’s wonderful but basic accessibility shouldn’t depend on guerrilla tactics!

That's excellent. Now it just needs to happen more places. The urinals in the SeaTac example have dividers at least, but really there's no reason they couldn't also be in private stalls. I don't need someone playing footsie or having a peek while I'm peeing.

I already avoid Starbucks at all costs like any self respecting Seattleite, so I say let them shoot themselves in the foot again.

Starbucks is closing shops here + local coffee shops are turning them into places we actually go to, including at SeaTac Airport. The rest of the world will follow suit.
