Not to take away from what is happening in LA, or centre Australia/ns, but I reckon a lot of us really felt the trauma this week from the really sad vision coming out of the US.
Will never forget the 2019-2020 fire event (lasted ~11 months).

One of the first things my dad ever taught me way back in 1974 or so was Vodka was made with potatoes and there always seemed to at least a bottle of Tvarski not too far from him. Video by Seaborder m.youtube.com/@seaborder

In 1987 they were a bit late and then had taken close to Soviet seaborder route on order to avoid higher waves and that was the reason they caused the alarm to us.
The gas turbines used huge volumes of fuel and they eventually switched to more conventional engines.
