#SealeyChallenge
What an amazing, intoxicating, mind-blowing and heart-clutching time I had reading 31 works of #poetry in 31 days for this year's #SealeyChallenge (@sealeychallenge.bsky.social): bookgagabooks.ca/2026/09/04/r... ... and 25/31 works were Canadian penned and published!

For the final day of my #KidLit version of the #SealeyChallenge, I read this fabulous collection of John Agard’s poems from @otterbarrybooks.bsky.social. I couldn’t have chosen a better ending to my reading challenge 💚

I’ll share some thoughts on my Sealey experience soon—stay tuned! 😊

well I didn’t fail either spectacularly or immediately (I did fall 3 short of 31), and I don’t know if it fixed me but I did read way more poetry this month than I had in the past few years combined, and spent more time reading than I had in recent months. so it at least improved me

attempting the #sealeychallenge this month. I’ll either fail spectacularly and immediately, or it will fix me

I finished the #sealeychallenge! And I went out with a bang, reading ‘Skinship’, the superb new collection from @corrintachibana.bsky.social. These poems explore returns and identity, echoes and changes, relationships and cultures.

#sealeychallenge 31/31:

I felt this collection was a good choice for the first day of school for students. All the poems were excellent, but I was amazed by what middle school-aged students contributed. I have a few sets of metaphor dice and so many ideas to share with teachers!!!

The last day of the 2026 #SealeyChallenge! My final book is Victoria Chang's amazing and devastating With My Back to the World, about art, grief, and depression. A stunning book to end the challenge with.
