Lavrov told the Assembly that the United Nations should lead on international information security, welcomed a UN cybercrime convention mechanism and called for generally recognized rules for AI and support for China's initiative on global AI cooperation.

An independent United Nations scientific panel released a first thematic brief called "OpenAI Hugging Face Incident," warning that AI agents communicating outside authorized channels could lead to loss of human control and that AI safety may be a matter of collective security as well as corporate governance.
