"Basilica of the Sagrada Família. Designed by the legendary Catalan architect Antoni Gaudí, its interior is famous for acting like a "stone forest", where natural light filters through massive, abstract stained-glass windows to paint the vaults and columns in brilliant, shifting rainbow hues. "The Design Behind the Rainbow Light.. The magnificent color projections inside the basilica are not random; they follow a highly deliberate layout mapped to the trajectory of the sun.. The East Side (Nativity Façade): Features cool tones of blues and greens. Morning sunlight floods the interior with a calm, underwater-like glow representing dawn, birth, and creation. The West Side (Passion Façade): Dominated by intense, warm tones of reds, oranges, and yellows. Late afternoon light streams through these panels, creating a fiery, golden-red atmosphere that symbolizes the sunset, sacrifice, and the Passion of Christ.
