Our new video just dropped! Periocardiocentesis under real-time, in-plane ultrasound guidance. Safer, quicker, more convenient. It's boss-level Seldinger-technique, not for the feint of heart, but attainable in the right setting, with the righ plan and right backup.

Seldinger guided pleural effusion drain. Very pain free for the patient, safety stop confirming guidewire in pleura before dilation, and resulting in a dorso-caudal drain position. Check out our guide.

Man darf nicht lange rumprobieren. In einem trainierten Team braucht eine Flow-Switch in der Radialis nur unwesentlich länger als ein iv-Zugang. Ich favorisiere allerdings die Femoralis via Seldinger-Technik mit US. Für CPR womöglich noch ein Gamechanger. Müssen wir überprüfen.

Alles gut; ist doch super, dass du da viel Übung hast.. Ich hätte auch in der Tat das spezifizieren sollen, dass es bei uns schwierig ist das zu üben.. Entweder Pat. bekommen keine, oder sie bekommen eine und gehen auf ITS -> eher Seldinger.. bleiben also nicht so viele Optionen..

study compared a true seldinger device (most elegant insertion method) to regular IV caths. Would bet placement method & the general crappiness of using IV caths for anything more than the length of an operation (i see u, anesthesia) is likely culprit and not the plastic that the aline is made from.

I used to favour Seldinger drains until I got my hands on the Rocket drains that are very similar to the one above, but which isn’t useable for more than a couple of hours. The Safe-T-Centesis seems much better for the ICU cases I’m mostly doing now.
