Selenopidae (I think?) and Salticidae (Platycryptus/Balmaceda). Both found under the same rock and both with similar cryptic colouration.

Cool to see similarities between distantly related species that occupy the same habitat.

Night Hike last night. My most exciting shot. Park ranger found this Flattie spider eating a damselfly on the side of the building. Flattie spiders are a common name for spiders in the Selenopidae family. Genus, Selenops, Crescent-eyed Spiders.

It is a similar species of Selenopidae, "flatties", i think!

Yeah, that looks like Selenopidae! I've always wondered how to tell the difference between Platycryptus and Balmaceda where their ranges overlap... maybe there is some reading I should do haha
