The fact the brace was always there is what I'm drawing attention to when I say he was pushing his body past its limits. Now he's in semiretirement, adopting a more relaxed state (both mentally and physically) and loosening his body. It could be the passage of time, but I think it's a bit more too.

💜 we're in communication, it really is a fun design challenge and i'm happy to come out of semiretirement for this
here's one example of the custom concepts i have in mind. designing so that both drifting and shifting feel natural without tilt is the hardest part, but i have faith it could be done

I just deposited the money from selling some land today. It was the official start of my semiretirement. 2 hours later a guy called and offered me a remote, part time job with benefits that pays 60k a year.

Depoliticize it: I like the idea of fixed, regular SCOTUS appointments: every 2 years (every congress), so, an 18 year tenure. After that, semiretirement: a ‘senior status’-basically just a backup, not on the bench. Fixed Senate approval timeline. Still ‘serving for life’ but a different assignment.
