We recently petitioned the California Highway Patrol to complete rulemaking to add side underride guards as a safety requirement to semitrailers and single-unit trucks. It's time to end death by underride!

I am mostly vexed by the traffic systems - giant freeways and highways blasting with semitrailers and aggressive drivers in SUVs wanting to weave through traffic, people not thinking or paying attention. Asphalt, rubber on the road - some poor pigeon gets squashed - and they call this progress!

when i worked for USPS, they took us to a major facility in TX that sorts a good portion of the state's mail. One of their semitrailers had crashed a week before, caught fire - a whole thing.
they had a football field of tables and ppl piecing together recovered/damaged mail to alert each person
