Director Josh Walker updated the council that the Grant County Digital Coalition has organized and focused on pursuing a Community Connect grant to extend fiber toward Seneca; the program requires a 15% match, and a new federal funding source could supplement the effort.

Seneca voted to accept and sign a memorandum of understanding with the Oregon Department of Land Conservation and Development to receive a no-cost economic development analysis funded through a DLCD grant coordinated via Grant County.

City staff reported the Ford Family Foundation grant application is nearly complete and would cover up to one-third of the new fire station costs if primary funding is already secured; the USDA option requires $50,000 in prior out-of-pocket spending and the city has expended nearly $10,000 so far on planning and studies.
