If my speculation is correct, then it fits with a radar spot seen by Sentinel-1 17:09 UTC 29 Oct.
The SAR-spot has a strange shape considering the presumed course, but this is due to the direction of flight of the satellite.

And a new SAR-image from 16:27 UTC is now available. It looks like a ship has taken the 1st berth previously occupied by LADY R. Whether this is a new ship, or LADY R or ASCALON has returned I cannot determine.

During this mornings Sentinel-1D pass at 05:32 UTC (06:32 CET) a ship without AIS was still following Valentin Rykov at ~3 NM. This is 30 minutes before the Danish patrol ship P524 started following.
The following ship does not appear to keep a distance to other ships. (0.5 NM to nearest ship.)
October 26, 2026 at 7:59 AM
24 Oct 2026 17:01 UTC Valentin Rykov was entering Skagerrak as Sentinel-1D passed overhead. Valentin Rykov was transmitting AIS and within range of receivers. A radar spot approximately 3 NM behind (west of) Valentin Rykov can be seen with no AIS.

It must have have "arrived" there between the 04th and 10th of October from what I can see from satellite imagery. Unsurprisingly it does not seem to have moved since it got here.
October 23, 2026 at 1:42 PM
Valentin Rykov might not be entering the Danish straits alone. On three different satellite images (24 Oct 17:01 UTC, 25 Oct 10:31 UTC, and 25 Oct 16:52 UTC) a ship with no AIS appear to be following at a distance of ~ 3 NM.
Could be a Danish warship on lookout, or something else sailing along.

Tidspunktet var sammenfaldende med da en satellit passerede, så vi har et radarbillede af det. Radar-pletten er i større en hvad den lille slæbebåd i sig selv vil give.

Two satellites, Sentinel-1C and 1D from the EU's Copernicus programme, pass over Denmark about twice a day. The radar sees through clouds and darkness. The images are free from Copernicus ( browser.dataspace.copernicus.eu?zoom=5&lat=5... ), usually online 1–4 hours later.
