Nobody tell them that Sephardi immigrants brought fish and chips to the UK.
The British Right are just in total freefall into savagery at this point

Hi, I'm Rachamim and I make culturally rooted queer fantasy work, drawing inspiration from my Greek-Sephardi background. I seek to marry the elements of the queer body and love with ornate detail and a lexicon of personal symbolism

Everyone knows how much Mizrahi and Sephardi Jews love gefilte fish

The Forward’s portrayal of NY’s Mizrahi & Sephardi communities as almost uniformly opposed to @mayor.nyc.gov failed to acknowledge the diversity of opinions that exist within the community. Read this letter to the editor from members of JFREJ’s Mizrahi & Sephardi Caucus. forward.com/opinion/lett...
Actually, many Mizrahi and Sephardi Jews support Mamdani
The Forward reported that Sephardi and Mizrahi Jews were less likely to support Mayor Zohran Mamdani. That may not be the full story.

A Jewish genealogy point I like repeating: all Ashkenazi Jews logically have Sephardi ancestry (because Sephardi migrants and refugees demonstrably merged into Ashkenazi populations) but almost all claims of *traceable* Sephardi descent are bogus, based on romantic imagination in the late 19th c

How do we tell if a hospital is an Ashkenazi hospital or a Sephardi hospital, I need to know for food reasons.
Ah, ok. Well people are also mad at her for having her baby at a Jewish hospital with alleged “ties to Israel”.

This rampant antisemitism is fucking exhausting.

Just chanting the Torah portion in a Sephardi trop (uh, cantillation), shouting out verses relevant to the issue at hand
Now I'm imagining Dora has a sentient, singing and talking Sefer Torah in her Backpack, in a pouch opposite The Map.

This was about "Mizrahi is an Israeli invention to replace Sephardi"

Retrospectively I can see that *Family Guy* and *The Epic of Gilgamesh* were both early expressions of a homegrown form of Sinophobia that was beginning to shape and color Sephardi life...

People don’t learn about the Mizrahi, Shami, Sephardi let alone the Yishuv.

And I think this is done on purpose.

i love (read: hate) how this assumes that ashkenazi and sephardi are both ethnic groups, and that there aren't people who have both ashkenazi ancestors and sephardi ancestors, and additionally that ashkenazi and sephardi are the only two Types of Jew
More baffling takes, now Jews are supposed to go to where their ancestors were in the 15th century?

What group chat can I blame for this take?

Also one theory is that fried fish was brought to the UK by Sephardi immigrants who used it as a way to cook fish before Shabbat and keep it until Shabbat.

But it's still part of British culture now, which shows how stupid this idea of cultural purity is.

This also explains why Mizrahi and Sephardi Jews do not exist

As an Ashkenazi Jew it’s inauthentic for me to co-opt Sephardi/Mizrahi/Ethiopian/other Jewish culture but I can very easily recognize that these cultures exist and are beautiful and Jewish!

(appearance-based arguments are mostly family myths, but Transylvania had a large Sephardi community that predates its Ashkenazi one!)

The article predicting Israel collapsing imminently due to an Ashkenazi-Sephardi civil war is such cope and so outdated in its understanding of Israeli society, it's not funny

(Sephardi practice, as well as that of Nusaḥ Sfard Ḥasidim, is in a different order and has a few additional passages, but that's a tangent for another time. I'll show you my spreadsheets.)

This doesn't apply to Transylvania and Wallachia etc (Romania and parts of Hungary basically), where distinct Sephardi communities (with continuous mingling, usually at the cost of the Sephardi community) existed until the Holocaust
