Septicflesh – A Fallen Temple | Metal Territory
Το A Fallen Temple του Septic Flesh κλείνει την πρώτη τους περίοδο και φέρνει πιο ατμοσφαιρικό, σκοτεινό ήχο με έμφαση στα πλήκτρα, ενώ η επανακυκλοφορία του το 2013 πρόσθεσε bonus κομμάτια και νέο artwork. Ηχογραφήθηκε στα Praxis Studios στην Αθήνα το 1997 και κυκλοφόρησε το 1998, σηματοδοτώντας το τέλος μιας φάσης με την πιο βαρβάτη, μαύρη ατμόσφαιρα του death metal/death-doom τους. Ένα από τα διασημότερα κομμάτια αυτής της περιόδου είναι το The Eldest Cosmonaut ( videoclip 1998 ), και το άλμπουμ παραμένει ο πιο ατμοσφαιρικός πυρήνας της πρώτης εποχής τους. Esoptron είναι ο δεύτερος δίσκος των Septic Flesh (1995) που σημάδεψε τη μετάβαση από death-doom σε μια πιο σκοτεινή, μελωδική κατεύθυνση. Τα πλήκτρα και οι σάμυλαντς του Christos Antoniou παίρνουν χώρο, οι στίχοι του Sotiris Vayenas αγγίζουν τον εσωτερικό κόσμο και την αμφιβολία, και ο ήχος γίνεται πιο βαρύς αλλά και μαύρο-ρομαντικός. Ich bin von einer Woche Urlaub in Bulgarien zurück! Ein Land, wo es mich wahrscheinlich so nie hin verschlagen hätte, aber dann hat mich das Konzert vom Septicflesh mit Chor und Orchester im antiken Theater von Plovdiv doch zu sehr gelockt.
