My (hopefully gentle) pedantry comes from a place of sympathy as a fellow NorCal native who had to endure a lot of corrections while going to college in Walla Walla. They’ve got some tough ones up there like Sequim (pronounced “Skwim”), Puyallup (“PYU-al-up) and Pend Oreille (“Ponder Ray”).
