POV: You survived Halloween, but Merry has seen what you’re doing.

This fellow artist brought theatrical horror, alarm, and profound disapproval to my latest seven-minute portrait.

What did she catch you doing?

Two portraits. Seven minutes. ✏️

Morgan was proudly sharing a student’s portrait of Mary Jackson, so naturally I decided seven minutes was plenty of time to draw both. 😬

Seven minutes. One fellow artist. Meet Katje.

A quick profile portrait drawn without enough time to overthink every line. Sometimes that's when the interesting marks happen.

Halloween is four days away.

I gave myself seven minutes and one pencil brush to draw a self-portrait.

Apparently something else showed up.

Created in Adobe Fresco on iPad.

Dina threw her hands up in surprise, and I had seven minutes to figure out what to do with all of it. 😄

That’s why I love these timed portraits: expression + gesture + absolutely no time to overthink.

Would you start with her face or those hands?
