Frank Carter, lead singer of the Sex Pistols, ejected a male audience member from a concert in Denver, Colorado, after he objected to the creation of a women-only mosh pit during the band's performance. The incident occurred during the band's show at the Ogden Theatre on October 9, 2026, as Carter prepared to introduce the women-only mosh pit ahead of the song 'No Feelings'. The man in the crowd interrupted Carter, claiming women could 'do this all the fucking time,' to which Carter responded that women often face physical harm in mosh pits, stating, 'They walk in the mosh pit and they get a fucking elbow to the head by a fucking idiot!' Carter continued, 'It’s not your lived experience, so just shut the fuck up!' He then called security to remove the man, telling him, 'Oi, security, just get this fucking lump outta here.' After the man was removed, Carter explained to the women in the crowd that the pit was intended to provide a safe space for them to dance without fear of being hit, groped, or intimidated. Carter later posted on Instagram Stories, stating, 'If you are a man who gets offended by a band making room for a female only moshpit then you are PART OF THE PROBLEM.' He emphasized that the space was trans-inclusive and meant for those who don't usually feel safe in mosh pits. Carter has been implementing women-only mosh pits for years, stating in a 2019 interview with NME that it was '100 per cent something that the band will do forever,' adding that it was 'the happiest mosh pit you’ve ever seen.' The Sex Pistols' current North American tour was postponed last year due to Steve Jones breaking his wrist, but they are set to return to the UK and Ireland in December for their '50 Years Of Punk' tour.
