1/10: The paper by Erwin Ott explores the intersection of Schattenontologie and 21st-century physics, examining epistemic and ontological limits in accessing reality. #PhilosophyOfScience #Physics #PhilSky #ShadowOntology das.ubernerden.com/ott-physik-s...

4/10 The paper systematizes this thinking through four core concepts: "Verdunkelung" (Obscuration), "Nichtverfügbarkeit" (Non-Availability), "Transklusion" (Transclusion), and "Exosion" (Exosion). These are the tools for "Schattenarbeit". #Academic #ShadowOntology

10/10: In essence(!), the paper argues for a "second enlightenment" that goes beyond simply refuting metaphysics to understanding how its shadow continues to shape our thinking and feelings. #Enlightenment #Philosophy #ShadowOntology

9/10: The central thesis: "The death of metaphysics does not absolve us from engaging with it - it obliges us to do so." Shadow Ontology is the attempt to philosophically fulfill this obligation. #PhilosophicalThought #ShadowOntology

3/10: The core concept is "Shadow Ontology," which doesn't seek to revive metaphysics. Rather, it understands the "beyond" as an implicit, living ontology - a residue of our hunger for meaning and transcendence that persists in our language, affects, and cultural images. #ShadowOntology #Ontology

7/10 Central to the argument is a negative political ontology: the political as reference to the ineffable, with the common good as an ontological reserve—a limit condition evoking responsibility in unknowing, akin to Levinas and Ott. #philsky #Levinas #ShadowOntology #Ethics

2/10: Shadow Ontology draws on the rich tradition of apophatic thought emphasizing the “unavailability” of reality in order to develop its approach. Key concepts include Obscuring, Transclusion, Exosion, and Non-Availability, resisting totalizing frameworks. #ShadowOntology

10/10 The future of Shadow Ontology lies in embracing generative openness, rethinking methods through latency, and fostering interdisciplinary questions. It’s not about rejecting tech but using it critically to preserve the unsaid. #ShadowOntology #FutureOfThought

3/10 Shadow Ontology centers on latency—the unsaid, unseen, yet potent knowledge that platforms obscure. Latency is not a deficiency but a necessary counterpart preserving what is systematically excluded by algorithmic and generative systems. #ShadowOntology #Knowledge
