Calling all my #Cdrama peeps - you need to get on #ShadowSovereign. It’s just landed on Viki internationally after recently completing its run in China and garnering a lot of praise/excitement. Short drama so excellent pacing and a plot that goes places. But with a big budget and A-list lead actors.

Short drama so excellent pacing and a plot that goes places. But with a big budget and A-list lead actors.
I’ve talked about it a fair bit. e.g. 👇 For a palette cleanser drama with a FL (really THE main character) who’s absolutely decisive, in control and scheming (to get back her life), #ShadowSovereign is just what you need. She’s the opposite of pathetic or wishy-washy or muddled or whatever.
I finished #ShadowSovereign today. An all-round excellent short C-drama. Highly recommend. Yes, the first half is stronger, but it still carried through. Kong Xue Er is the ultimate power queen who gets what she wants. And what she wants is Li Hong Yi in her bed. This is a great role for him too.

Just watched eps 1 and 2 of #ShadowSovereign. It’s off to a great (and raunchy!) start. Love the duality of the FL - power-tripping supercilious clever bitch but also righteous plotter with a tragic backstory of pain and hurt.

It’s so gooooooood! I love a great “man serves powerful lady in the bedchamber” kind of dynamic. She’s such a clever bitch and he’s so powerless in front of it and simultaneously hot for that. #ShadowSovereign

I recommend #ShadowSovereign on Viki. It’s a shorter C-drama (18 episodes of 25 minutes) and those have more leeway with plot, less censorship. It’s a really fun ride of a historical drama, centred around a strong female character. 👌
