A comic set during the quest "A Study of Dock Town" featuring my Rook, Kellum Mercar, and Neve Gallus "-- Besides, I was doing this before the Shadows came knocking. Before Varric too. Right here in Dock Town," Neve explains to Kellum, as they both stand off to the side of Glandivalis Square, still caught in the city's ever present drizzle. "Heh," Kellum huffs out a short chuckle, surveying the street before him, "Nothing like coming back to the city. Home, sweet home, right?" "You like it here? You miss it?" Neve asks, and she hones her attention on him. As Kellum responds, a little glibly, "Oh, yeah - Non-stop drizzle, paper-thin Veil... the rats," Neve really focuses in on how Kellum carries himself [Head bowed when he speaks, rarely looks you in the eye - submissive posture.] Further taking him in ["Mercar" though... An Elven son would be a secret - But rumors of the Legatus Mercar adopting would travel, regardless. And still, no word on the boy. Nothing, until five years ago.] Her focus shifts to his ears, as Kellum begins to notice her attention [Those notches. hmm... Five Years ago... A Magister, found dead. Slaves went missing. Maybe...] "What's not to--" Neve interrupts, "Really?" her gaze searching. "Yes...?" He looks her in the eyes and answers, a touch too quickly under the scrutiny, then, "Not really?" He turns his head down before settling with, "I don't know." "I... should hate it," Kellum lifts his eyes again, the words admitting a little more than just his feelings for the city, but he continues, "But it's the only home I know - the only one I've got." Neve studies him and his admission, before turning away, humming in understanding. "It doesn't make it easy." Neve says, her sights back on Glandivalis square before them. Kellum watches the square as well, and agrees, "No, it doesn't." "C'mon. Let's get those papers."
