Effective 4 p.m. today, Friday, Aug. 29, the province has lifted restrictions on access to woods within the Halifax region. The provincial burn ban remains in place for the entire province. More details: www.halifax.ca/home/news/re...

Reminder: The Williams Lake Dam replacement is under construction until October. The #ShawWildernessPark entrance off Purcells Cove Road is temporarily closed to the public, along with the trail and dam area. Text: New Dam Coming Soon About the Dam: Build Nova Scotia is leading construction of a replacement dam built to environmental standards that support protection of the Williams Lake ecosystem and regulate water levels for the enjoyment and safety of users and property owners. The previous dam dates back to the 1700s. This is an investment in the safety of the community and the health of the environment that will be a benefit now and for generations to come.
