Good morning Bluesky. I confess this is more Loch than mountain, but that wee pyramidal peak is #Shiehallion. An easy climb, but a special one. The last time I climbed it, just after this photo, was a few days before foot surgery and I had no idea if I’d ever walk up a mountain again.

#ShowMeYourKnits this week's prompt is Stripes. I love stripes, in anything and everything. Self striping yarn is a boon, but I also have used miniskeins, especially in socks. Just a few of my stripey cowls and socks.🧶 #knitsky
Kate Davies Knowle cowl/capelet, knit in KDD Shiehallion in dark blue as the background colour, with patterned stripes of KDD Buachaille. The stripes begin at the bottom with red, followed by orange, yellow, green, and mid blue. The pattern of the stripes is a double row of simple zigzags, with small diamonds bordering each stripe. Andrea Mowry's The Shift Cowl, knit in Louisa Harding Amitola, a lovely yarn with long colour changes, forming blurred stripes. on top of these base stripes of pinks purples greens and blues are stripes of dots in contrasting but harmonious colours, formed by slipped stitches. This is a fantastic pattern, I loved it and the yarn so much, I have also cast on the Nightshift shawl using the same yarns. Victoria Magnus' Lucky Dip Cowl in 4ply. Knit in tiny balls of Eden Cottage yarns in varying colours, a literal lucky dip. Each random stripe is separated by a thin stripe of dark purple. This is lovely and soft around the neck. The colours include orange/tan, lavender, brown, blue variegated, brown, grey speckled, green and seafoam green. Striped socks in lime and teal on metal sock blockers, lying on a wooden slatted table. These are fraternal socks. One sock begins with a teal toe and stripes lime alternately to the cuff which is also teal. The other sock begins with a lime green toe and alternates teal to the cuff which is lime. I actively like non-matching pairs, so these were a pleasure to knit and to wear!

Wolly Wormhead's earflap hat Centuria and Ysolda Teagues Garter Stitch Mittens, both knit in West Yorkshire Spinners Colourlab DK Sock in colour Soul. The hat, flattened to show the earflap, lies on a wooden table next to a single mitten. Both are knit sideways in garter stitch, with short row shaping to create 3D items. The colourway is an overall speckled pattern in greys, blues, purples and pinks. A red sleeveless sweater modelled on a white dreeform against a cream background. The vest is bright red with an allover scrunchy texture and a rounded neckline. It is longline, almost a tunic. The pattern is Ink Vest by Fiona Hamilton-MacLaren and the yarn is West Yorkshire Spinners ColourLab DK in Crimson. An orange/red cowlette, Whitterick by Liz Corke, knit in Urth Monokrom DK. The cowl is displayed on a white dress form, standing in front of greenery in a conservatory. The cowl is loose and elegantly folded around the neck, with an interesting texture. The bottom few centimetres are an open pattern of holes. The cowl is triangular in shape, dipping down to a point in the centre front. Woolly Wormhead again, this time a cowl. Toph Compagne is a sideways garter stitch cowl, using short row shaping to create curving leaf shapes. I used KDD Shiehallion DK yarn in Faded Overalls, a dark blue, for the backgound, and then seven different colours of KDD Buachaille DK for the leaf shapes. The colours on the side shown are, from left to right, orange, mid blue, green, yellow, light grey, orange, red, pink, yellow, mid blue, orange, red, and green. The cowl is lying on a light coloured stone floor.
